Click on the links below for further information:
To introduce 25 new volunteers with learning disabilities into Gateway Wheelers over the course of the year, June 07 – June 08, and encourage at least five of those volunteers to have an active role in the operation and management of Gateway Wheelers.
The scheme is aimed at all abilities and ages, however certain roles will require various different skills and each volunteer will have to meet these skills to enable them to volunteer.
If a volunteer has learning or physical disabilities they must be supervised for the initial few weeks and thereafter depending on their needs.
Within Gateway Wheelers there are various volunteering opportunities from bike maintenance to riding assistants (see below), the level of commitment we require is variable depending on the role and it is also flexible to suit volunteer needs.
